🚀 Getting Started
What is StitchLift?
StitchLift is an AI-powered sewing pattern maker that generates multi-size, fully labeled, printable sewing patterns from text descriptions or uploaded images. Whether you describe "an A-line midi dress with cap sleeves" or upload a photo of a garment, our AI creates a complete pattern ready to print.
Try the editor to see it in action.
How does the AI pattern generator work?
Our AI is trained on thousands of professional sewing patterns. When you describe a garment or upload an image, it analyzes the construction — seams, darts, sleeves, collars, closures — and generates all the individual pattern pieces with correct proportions, seam allowances, grain lines, and notches. The whole process takes under 60 seconds.

Do I need sewing experience to use StitchLift?
No! StitchLift is designed to be beginner-friendly. You don't need to know pattern drafting or have years of sewing experience. Simply describe what you want to sew, and the AI handles the technical work. If you're new to sewing, we recommend starting with simpler projects like tote bags or basic skirts.

What devices can I use StitchLift on?
StitchLift works on any device with a modern web browser — Windows, Mac, Linux, Chromebook, iPad, and Android tablets. The editor is optimized for desktop and tablet screens (10" and above) for the best pattern editing experience. No software installation is required.
Is there a free trial?
Yes! Our Free plan isn't a time-limited trial — it gives you 20 patterns for life, with up to 2 new patterns per month. You get access to the full editor, A4 and US Letter export, and all basic templates.

📐 Pattern Generation
What types of patterns can I create?
StitchLift generates patterns for clothing (dresses, tops, skirts, pants, jackets), bags (tote bags, crossbody bags, clutches, backpacks), accessories, and home decor items. Simply describe what you want or upload a reference image, and the AI will create all the pattern pieces needed.
How accurate are the AI-generated patterns?
Our AI is trained on professional patterns and achieves high accuracy for standard garment constructions. Most users find they need minimal adjustments. The built-in
pattern editor lets you fine-tune every curve, dart, and seam before exporting. For complex or unusual designs, we recommend reviewing the pieces before cutting your fabric.
Can I customize the measurements?
Absolutely! You can choose from standard size ranges (XS through 3XL) or enter your own custom body measurements for a personalized fit. StitchLift will generate separate pattern layers for each size you select, all with accurate grading between sizes.
Creator and Studio plans unlock custom size ranges.
What file formats can I export?
StitchLift exports patterns as PDF files optimized for your chosen paper size — A0 (large format for print shops), A4 (international home printers), or US Letter (North American standard). SVG export is also available for further editing in design software. All exports include pattern labels, grain lines, notches, and seam allowances.
Can I print patterns on A4, Letter, and A0 paper?
Yes! All three formats are supported. A0 is for large-format plotters at print shops. A4 and US Letter include tiled pages with overlap marks so you can print at home and tape the pages together. The overlap marks ensure perfect alignment when assembling your pattern.
How long does it take to generate a pattern?
Most patterns are generated in under 60 seconds. Simply describe your garment or upload a photo, select your sizes and export format, and the AI creates a complete, multi-size pattern. More complex designs with many pieces may take a few seconds longer.
Can I generate patterns from an image?
Yes! Upload a photo or sketch of any garment and StitchLift's AI will analyze the design and generate a sewing pattern from it. This works best with clear, well-lit photos showing the full garment from the front. Flat-lay photos give the best results, but side views and styled photos also work.
